Visit a Place Called ‘Haven’ on Syfy
Stephen King-Based Series Premieres

Summer continues its basic-cable original-series roll with the debut of Syfy’s new Stephen King-inspired drama Haven at 10pm ET tonight, July 9.
The first episode of the show, which is based on King’s mystery novel The Colorado Kid, has the inviting title “Welcome to Haven.” Thank you very much — I’m looking forward to getting settled in.
Emily Rose of Jericho, Brothers & Sisters and John from Cincinnati stars as lead character Audrey Parker, an FBI agent sent to the peculiar (what else would it be?) New England town of Haven, Maine, to investigate the recent murder of a local escaped crook. However, Parker eventually realizes the town’s community members have something quite interesting in common: a talent for the supernatural, which makes them my favorite kind of people.
Canadian Queer as Folk actor Lucas Bryant costars as Haven police officer Nathan Wuornos, who soon teams up with Audrey, while 24 and Six Feet Under alum Eric Balfour plays captivating resident Duke Crocker. The premiere introduces all three regular characters and provides a firsthand look at Audrey’s initial experiences in Haven as she arrives to find out what happened — and why — in the mysterious death of the Haven local.
Preview “Welcome to Haven” in the following two-minute sneak peek. I think I’m going to enjoy Syfy’s latest contribution to the summer television lineup.
