Two New Imports Premiere

Syfy network expands its programming of original scripted series to Satudays this summer with the June 8 premieres of imported shows Sinbad and Primeval: New World.

A production of the United Kingdom’s British Sky Broadcasting, Sinbad stars newcomer Elliot Knight (pictured above) as the legendary title character, who can remain on land only for brief intervals of time lest he die. The show’s first season follows his adventures on sea and land as he attempts to undo the curse placed upon him after he accidentally kills the child of a powerful community member (Naveen Andrews, Lost). Season One contains 12 episodes that will air Saturdays at 9pm ET.

A multinational production from Canada and the UK, the spinoff Primeval: New World continues the concept introduced in the earlier UK series Primeval. Niall Matter (Eureka) and Sara Canning (The Vampire Diaries) top the ensemble cast as experts who must devise all kinds of crisis management techniques when future and past creatures become time travelers and wind up in the present. The 13 first-season episodes will air Saturdays at 10pm.
