Stargate Atlantis: ‘Harmony’ Preview

On the January 25th Episode…

Stargate Atlantis

McKay and Sheppard are put on muscle duty for a princess, and of course the little girl is wise beyond her years.

This particular episode of Stargate Atlantis should be really good because it features one of TV’s brightest and most prolific young actresses, 13-year-old Canadian Jodelle Ferland (who I just learned happens to share my birth date October 9 when I looked up her bio—now I love her even more).

So, where have we all seen Ferland before? I most immediately remember her from Smallville, when she guested in 2003 as the best friend of a young Lana Lang. She also recently appeared on the series that currently follows the superhero drama on Thursday nights, Supernatural.

And then in addition to John Doe, Dark Angel, and the telemovie Carrie, there was that early episode of Dead Like Me where she was the first person that novice grim reaper Georgia had to cross over. The general trend here seems to be shows with an eerie, otherworldly theme.

Case in point: Ferland also played the Devil a couple of times on a Canadian series called The Collector, not to mention her major role in the feature film Silent Hill (there’s the eerie again). Plus, she had a part on Atlantis‘ predecessor Stargate SG-1. Busy, busy girl; I only hope all these scary roles don’t warp her mind.

Take a look at Ferland in action with Atlantis star David Hewlett (Oh no! Rodney’s under fire!) in the following preview clip from tonight’s new episode “Harmony.”
