Saturday Sports Night Live

Athletes Take Over the Tube

Ringside There may not be a whole lot of original scripted programming on TV tonight, but there’s more than enough live-action athletic competitions to satisfy even the biggest sports nuts. It all gets off to a great start earlier in the day with the Conference USA Tournament final in Memphis, Tennessee, at 11:30am on CBS, followed by both men’s and women’s college basketball airing round-the-clock on such networks as CBS, ESPN, and Fox Sports.

Highlights from other sports include professional bull riding in Kansas City, Missouri, on VS. (9pm) and Toshiba Senior Classic PGA golf in Newport Beach, California, on the Golf Network (6:30pm). Finally, to top off the hyperactive day, ESPN Classic’s Brian Kenny and Bert Sugar co-host a three-hour retrospective look at the career of American welterweight boxer Pernell “Sweet Pea” Whitaker in the new edition of the weekly Ringside boxing series.
