Reality Series ‘Nashville’ in Trouble Already at Fox
Welcome to the Start of the Fall 2007 Cancellations
Bummer—and I haven’t even had the chance to watch and review the first two episodes I recorded.
Believe it or not, Nashville fans, I’ve got bad, sad news for you: Fox has shelved the newcomer already after just two broadcasts due to dismal ratings.
According to The Futon Critic, the rookie series’ Friday-night time slot will feature repeats of fellow freshman K-Ville for the next two weeks (the pilot this Friday and the second episode “Cobb’s Web” on October 5), followed by regularly scheduled Major League Baseball programming on October 12 and the debut of the music competition The Next Great American Band on the 19th.
The Futon Critic also notes that Fox has not officially canceled the reality program, just taken it away so the public can’t see it for the time being. Rescheduling is allegedly waiting in the wings in the future. “Allegedly,” I say, because this is Fox after all. How long did viewers wait for Tim Minear’s Drive to get rescheduled earlier this year before the last episodes finally wound up streamed online?
Wait for it…
Wait for it…
Come up with bubkes? Point proved. (And the answer is one week shy of three months, in case you’re wondering).
