First The Sopranos and now Nurse Jackie — actress Edie Falco definitely has the magic touch when it comes to starring in memorable, successful premium-cable TV series. Showtime recently announced the network has renewed Falco’s current series, comedy Nurse Jackie, for a sixth season, which matches the lengthy run of her previous HBO crime drama.

The fifth season of Nurse Jackie premiered on April 14 and will conclude on June 16 in the show’s regular time slot of Sundays at 9pm ET. Season Six will premiere in 2014, although the pickup announcement doesn’t state for how many episodes. Based on prior seasons, however, fans can probably expect 10 to 12.
