November 2007 Sweeps - Day 3: ‘Panic Button’ on Lifetime
CBS Wins Again on Day 2
The preliminary Nielsen data is in for the second day of primetime programming this November Sweeps, and CBS topped the heap on Friday. The Eye Network even outdid its Thursday-night performance, coming in first among the broadcast networks in both overall viewers and viewers in the critical 18–49 demographic.
8pm: New episodes of CBS’ Ghost Whisperer and NBC’s Deal or No Deal tied the hour with a 6.0/11 each. ABC’s Men in Trees was second with a 4.1/7 in its new 8pm time slot, while the first hour of The CW’s reliable WWE Friday Night SmackDown! was third with a 2.8/5. Coming in fourth and last was the first of two new episodes of Fox’s The Next Great American Band. It achieved a puny 1.5/3, which was even lower than the anemic ratings the series managed last week.
9pm: ABC served up the night’s highest-rated show, the rookie crime procedural Women’s Murder Club, which clocked in at 6.4/11. CBS’ Moonlight was second (4.9/9), followed by NBC’s Friday Night Lights (3.6/6), the final hour of The CW’s SmackDown! (2.9/5), and the second hour of Fox’s American Band (1.5/3).
10pm: CBS returned to first place with a new Numb3rs (6.1/11), followed by ABC’s 20/20 (5.2/9), and NBC’s Las Vegas (4.9/9).
In overall ratings for the night, CBS came in first place (5.7/10), ABC second (5.2/9), NBC third (4.8/9), The CW fourth (2.8/5), and Fox fifth (1.4/3). Those numbers basically mirrored the results for viewers aged 18–49, with CBS in first place (2.3), but followed by NBC in second (1.9), then ABC in third (1.8), and The CW (1.4) and Fox (1.0) last.
