November 2007 Sweeps – Day 17: Molly Shannon Multiplies

There’s More to Molly Than Meets the Eye

Molly Shannon/More of Me

Tonight, hilarious Saturday Night Live alum Molly Shannon stars in something I never really would have pegged her for: a Lifetime original movie. Yes, I know the actress-comic has done her fair share of romantic comedies, such as the recent Year of the Dog. I guess that’s why I shouldn’t be so surprised to see her headlining a telefilm like More of Me.

The picture revolves around Alice McGrath, an “overworked and overextended wife, mother and career woman.” To cope with the numerous demands of home, work, and family, Alice splits into three versions of herself, but eventually realizes that she’s best when she’s one integrated whole. The major task then becomes to put herself back together again.

That fun premise sounds tailor-made for the core Lifetime audience. Even better for viewers, former Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip and Wings star Steven Weber plays Alice’s husband Rex. Catch the flick’s premiere at 9pm EST.
