November 2007 Sweeps – Day 16: Cults, Replicators, and Ghosts

Freaky Friday Is Here

Blood Ties

Friday nights are one of the better TV-watching nights in my household this season simply because they feature more than a few series in my favorite genre: supernatural, or what some people prefer to call horror. At 8pm EST, Ghost Whisperer‘s Jennifer Love Hewitt will investigate a haunted house in the countryside, while at 9pm, CBS’ other Friday-night spook show, Moonlight, will find vampire detective Mick St. John (Alex O’Loughlin) conducting his own look-see into a cult led by a creepy death-row inmate.

The paranormal party continues on basic cable’s Sci Fi Channel at 10:02pm, where the Stargate Atlantis crew will have another run-in with a familiar Wraith that leads to a bit of Replicator action. Wrapping the freak show up at 11pm is Lifetime’s Blood Ties. Human detective Vicki Nelson (Christina Cox) will track the night’s second ghost, which will somehow end up having something to do with her 450-year-old vamp pal Henry Fitzroy (Kyle Schmid). That figures.

Other Day 16 Events

  • MTV
    • THE KENTUCKY KID—Wow! Either MTV really loves this new series or the network can’t wait to get it over with as quickly as possible. The reality show all about professional motorcycle racer Nicky Hayden debuts with not just one or two or three episodes, but a two-hour, four-episode premiere. [10pm EST]
  • NBC
    • DEAL OR NO DEAL—The popular game show celebrates the 100th anniversary of “Mmm, mmm, good” Hershey’s Kisses with a three-team face-off for $100 million smackeroos. Sounds scrumptious to me. [8pm EST]
  • TV Land
    • ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY AND TV LAND PRESENT: THE 50 GREATEST TV ICONS—This special is just what the title says: an overview of who folks at industry magazine Entertainment Weekly and basic-cable network TV Land believe are the fifty biggest television personalities of all time. [8pm EST]
