We Missed You, Mr. Grumpy!

House

Monday | April 28

House: Everyone’s favorite misanthrope returns with a new episode appropriately titled “No More Mr. Nice Guy.” As if House ever was one … but we love him anyway. [9pm EST/Fox]

Widlfire: Strictly for the teens and very young adults (I assume since I don’t watch), the hit series resumes its fourth season. [9pm EST/ABC Family]

Tuesday | April 29

Stargate Atlantis: Beginning this week, Sci Fi Channel is treating fans to Tuesday-night, three-hour marathons of the excellent series’ fourth season. The fifth season isn’t far off, premiering on July 11th. In the meantime, keep up-to-date on all the latest news about Atlantis at Morjana’s comprehensive blog Subduction Leads to Orogeny (and thanks to her for the mini-marathons tip). [7pm EST/Sci Fi Channel]

Shark: James Woods and his crackerjack legal team are back but in The Unit’s old time slot. I’ll follow wherever CBS sticks them, though. [9pm EST/CBS]

The Riches: The series presents its premature second-season finale. [10pm EST/FX]

Women’s Murder Club: I can hardly believe ABC has brought this one back (although I personally enjoyed it just fine), but here it is. Catch it while you can! [10:02pm EST/ABC]

Wednesday | April 30

Farmer Wants a Wife: I’m only mentioning this reality crap for the sake of completeness. The silly show debuts, and it will probably be a huge instant hit. Aaaarghhh!!! [9pm EST/The CW]

Ghost Hunters: The popular supernatural reality show leaves the tube for a midseason break. I won’t make fun of it, however, because it has merit — it’s about ghosts, so what’s not to like? [9pm EST/Sci Fi Channel]

Law & Order: It’s the first episode without Jesse L. Martin and with his successor Anthony Anderson. I’ve got good feelings already about Anderson’s future with the franchise. [10pm EST/NBC]

Lewis Black’s Root of All Evil: The first season closes without any word yet on a second. The topic is Las Vegas vs. The Human Body. [10:30pm EST/Comedy Central]

Thursday | May 1

Ugly Betty: This is the one with fierce Project Runway loans Nina Garcia and Christian Siriano. Nice! [8pm EST/ABC]

Supernatural: This is the one where dead Winchester daddy Jeffrey Dean Morgan returns … or does he? [9pm EST/The CW]

Friday | May 2

Moonlight: I like Mick. So, I thought I’d give him a shout-out, although there’s nothing really special about this episode besides, well, Mick. …and Beth, too, of course. [9pm EST/ABC]

Battlestar Galactica: I love the entire show — except Cally, but she’s gone now — and want everyone to tune in. [10pm EST/Sci Fi Channel]

Ringo Starr: Off the Record: An hourlong interview with the former Beatle, conducted by Eurythmics genius Dave Stewart? I’d watch just for Dave; Ringo is a bonus. [11pm EST/HBO]

Saturday | May 3

Robin Hood: Who wouldn’t want to see something with the title “The Booby and the Beast”? Sounds interesting to me. [9pm EST/BBC America]

A Teacher’s Crime: There’s not much else original on, so how about another one of Lifetime’s tepid thrillers? Sometimes they surprise you and turn out to be almost good. [9pm EST/Lifetime]

Sunday | May 4

America’s Funniest Home Videos: Wow! The series celebrates its 400th episode. Congratulations! [7pm EST/ABC]

Cold Case: No more new episodes for fans this season! Fortunately, the procedural has already been renewed for a sixth. [8pm EST/CBS]

Wire in the Blood: Ditto, except for the already renewed part. [8pm EST/BBC America]

Family Guy: Ditto, except it’s a midseason finale and the show has also been renewed for another season already. [9pm EST/Fox]

This American Life: The second season opens. [10pm EST/Showtime]
