The Summer Heat Is Almost On!
Monday | May 26
The Andromeda Strain: The reviews haven’t been impressive, but I’m still looking forward to the miniseries remake of Michael Crichton‘s 1969 sci-fi thriller. And it’s still not too late to enter the contest either. [9pm EST/A&E]
Wildfire: I’m surprised this one is ending, given its popularity, but tonight is the series finale for the ABC Family teen drama, after four successful seasons. [9pm EST/ABC Family]
Living Lohan: Dina Lohan, mother of celebrity wreck Lindsay, has her own new reality show now, and I couldn’t care less. I only mention it because these (insanely silly) things need to be pointed out. [10:30pm EST/E!]
Tuesday | May 27
According to Jim: I bet the cast and crew of this long-running ABC sitcom are giving all the naysayers the figurative finger. The seventh season is coming to an end — with a double episode, no less — but there will be an eight in the fall. Take that! [8pm–9pm EST/ABC]
The Andromeda Strain: The miniseries remake concludes. [9pm EST/A&E]
Wednesday | May 28
NHL Stanley Cup Finals: NBC presents the third game during a sports special presentation. [8pm EST/NBC]
Men in Trees: If you’re a fan of ABC’s entertaining and inexplicably canceled romantic dramedy, make sure to catch the final episodes, starting with this one. [10pm EST/ABC]
Thursday | May 29
Lost: There’s only one must-see program airing on this night, as far as I’m concerned, and it also happens to be Lost‘s special two-hour fourth-season finale. I can’t wait! [9pm EST/ABC]
Friday | May 30
The 2008 Scripps National Spelling Bee: It’s sweet they air this kind of programming on broadcast television nowadays. But, to be honest, I’ve never watched. Logophiles can, though, to their heart’s content. [8pm EST/ABC]
The Sarah Jane Adventures: Has it really been an entire season? It seems like this United Kingdom import just started a couple of weeks. The first-season finale it is, however. [8:30pm EST/Sci Fi Channel]
Saturday | May 31
Dead at 17: The title sounds kind of depressing for a Saturday-night flick. Yet the plot revolves around an accidental death and a murder, which means the movie is probably a whole lot better than its blah title seems to indicate. [9pm EST/Lifetime]
Heat Stroke: Aliens, heat, and global warming — what’s not to love in another one of Sci Fi Channel’s ridiculously entertaining cheesy original movies? [9pm EST/Sci Fi Channel]
Sunday | June 1
2008 MTV Movie Awards: No explaining needed for this industry staple. [8pm EST/MTV]
Million Dollar Password: A new reality game show premieres that I’m not going to watch. [8pm EST/CBS]
Bridezillas: The fifth season begins. Who would’ve guessed a show about high-strung brides-to-be could last this long? [9pm EST/WE]
The Tudors: Season Two closes. [9pm EST/Showtime]
In Plain Sight: A new dramedy for dramedy hit-maker USA, this one starring a woman (The West Wing‘s Mary McCormack). It’s about time! [10pm EST/USA]
NOTE: All times are Eastern Standard Time (EST)
