No More Plastic Surgery for You

Nip/Tuck

Monday | February 18

Yesterday was a holiday, President’s Day, so I kind of flaked on blogging. That was probably for the best anyway since the night’s four biggest television events were the four biggest non-events from my personal perspective: ABC’s Dance War and Fox’s Prison Break finally went away, both hopefully forever, while the unnecessary reality series My Dad Is Better Than Your Dad and Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious premiered on NBC and The CW, respectively. Yawn!

Tuesday | February 19

Aw shoot! Nip/Tuck is calling it quits early this season at 10pm EST, although the writers strike recently ended. At least there’s no doubt whatsoever that everyone’s favorite plastic surgeons will return for more drama in the future. And, also at 10pm, ABC’s Boston Public bows out for a break to reboot.

Wednesday | February 20

Wow! Discovery Channel’s MythBusters celebrates its milestone 100th episode with a MacGyver-centric installment at 9pm, while ABC’s bland Cashmere Mafia goes away at last when the clock strikes 10pm. I suggest ditching the last half-hour of that muddled mediocrity to check out talented Aisha Tyler guest starring on Comedy Central’s zany spoof sitcom Reno 911!.

Thursday | February 21

I’m really going to miss those Winchester boys when they head off on hiatus after Supernatural‘s “Jus In Bello” episode at 9pm. Catch the Season Two repeat “Night Shifter” before it at 8pm.

Friday | February 22

Bid adieu to Monk at 9pm. After the super smart detective spends the second and final part of the sixth-season finale foiling the man who has tried to frame him, there’ll be no more Adrian until next summer.

Saturday | February 23

In addition to a new episode of BBC America’s Torchwood at 9pm, Sci Fi Channel has a promisingly titled movie called Living Hell at the same time, while Comedy Central presents a sixty-minute comedy special featuring the one and only Cedric “The Entertainer” at 10pm.
