Time to Get Back to Bones
Monday | April 14
Bones: The crime procedural with an anthropological kick and a mighty fan base returns post-writers strike. [8pm EST/Fox]
New Amsterdam: Yet another middling crime procedural closes its first season. Will it come back? No one knows yet, but I’ll watch if it does, if only because Dutch star Nikolaj Coster Waldau makes the time worth it. [9pm EST/Fox]
Tuesday | April 15
According to Jim: Like CBS’ Two and a Half Men, people tend to either really love or really loathe this sitcom. Whichever your position, the show returns to continue its seventh season with rumors of a pending eighth in the air. [8pm EST/ABC]
The Biggest Loser: The fifth season ends, and all of the contestants can feel good about their dropped poundage, whether they win or not. [8pm EST/NBC]
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit: Get ready for more of the sickest plots on television when the currently most successful Law & Order, ratings wise, returns. [10pm EST/NBC]
Wednesday | April 16
Under One Roof: Get out! Public Enemy and VH1 lover Flavor Flav has a new sitcom. Catch the premiere. [8pm EST/MyNetworkTV]
The Real World: It’s hard to believe, but this season of the long-running MTV reality series is number 20. Yikes! I still remember when the darn show debuted, which means I am officially getting old. And, no, no, no — I do not watch anymore. [10pm EST/MTV]
Thursday | April 17
Smallville: Finally — fresh Superfarmboy. [8pm EST/The CW]
Eli Stone: The first season of this thoroughly charming dramedy ends, and ABC had better bring it back for another. [10pm EST/ABC]
Friday | April 18
Doctor Who: England’s iconic sci-fi series returns stateside with a traditionally extended fourth-season premiere. Kylie Minogue fans should take special note since the pixie-pretty, ultra-petite Aussie entertainer has a major role. [8:30pm EST/Sci Fi Channel]
Canterbury’s Law: It’s doubtful Julianna Margulies‘ legal drama will find its way back to the tube after this first-season finale, but maybe her star power can work magic. I’m not opposed. [9pm EST/Fox]
Saturday | April 19
Love Sick: Secrets of a Sex Addict: The title alone reveals all you need to know. And, because the movie’s on Lifetime, there’s the extra knowledge that it’s not porn. [9pm EST/Lifetime]
Torchwood: All good things must come to an end eventually, like the second season of this excellent Doctor Who spinoff. I just wish it were on basic cable’s Sci Fi Channel instead so more people would have the opportunity to discover and enjoy it. [9pm EST/BBC America]
Sunday | April 20
Oprah’s Big Give: I got bored with this reality show early. But, for those who stuck around, the first season is about to end. [8pm EST/ABC]
Brothers & Sisters: Ditto on the bored part, although this particular series is returning rather than leaving. [10:02pm EST/ABC]
