The Next Food Network Star: Season Four Is Here
And You Could Celebrate with a Prize
With Fox’s Hell’s Kitchen an increasingly bigger (and more tedious) joke and Bravo’s excellent though questionably judged Top Chef (sourpuss Lisa is still there?!) about to call it a season, foodies thankfully have another great option available on the small screen — the fourth season of The Next Food Network Star, which just kicked off last Sunday.
Ten finalists started the arduous battle in the kitchen during the premiere to earn the coveted title: Nipa Bhatt, Jennifer Cochrane, Lisa Garza, Adam Gertler, Cory Kahaney, Shane Lyons, Aaron McCargo Jr., Kelsey Nixon, Kevin Roberts, and Jeffrey Vaden. By the time the episode was over, however, one of the aspiring celebrity chefs, New York’s Kahaney, was destined to become the first “fatality.”
Viewers can stay on top of events this season by visiting the show’s official website, where numerous resources are available, as well as the show’s Facebook Fan Page. This site is also hosting a giveaway that will allow one lucky winner to receive a fantastic prize package containing:

My family loves my pork chops. Easy, but tasty. Brown your chops on both sides, cover with a can undiluted chicken gumbo soup, cover, simmer 30 min. Serve with rice.

We love Hankie Pankies here. While they’re considered an appetizer, we like them for dinner too. (1lb hot sausage, 1lb regular sausage and 1lb Velvetta cheese. Fry sausages and add cut-up Velvetta; mix until melted. Top tiny rye bread squares with sausage mixture and bake in preheated 350 degree oven about 10 minutes).

Panini Cypriote…an entree that makes my mouth water just thinking about it. Roasted thinly sliced lamb…grilled in a deliciously buttered panini with Feta cheese, caramelized onions, and tomato slices. For those that are not into Feta cheese, I’ve found that Provolone or Mozzarella works too. But then I love cheese!
