Mental: David Carradine Guest Stars
Fox Airs One of Actor’s Last TV Roles

After two episodes, I’m not digging Fox’s new House-wannabe (and never-will-be) Mental at all. However, tonight’s new installment called “Book of Judges” is definitely worth watching, just for the opportunity to see Kung Fu and Kill Bill actor David Carradine in action.
Carradine passed away tragically last week on June 3 while filming his next movie Stretch in Thailand. I have no idea when he shot his guest-star appearance on the Fox medical drama, or if the gig is his last television role, but his character is integral to the plot.
He plays Gideon Graham, a renowned author and academic, who ends up in the show’s Los Angeles psychiatric ward after he’s struck by lightning and goes into what medical types call a non-responsive catatonic state. Lead character Dr. Jack Gallagher, played by English actor Chris Vance (Prison Break), then tries to bring Graham back to the world of the non-catatonic by using a controversial treatment that could harm the patient.
Mental also stars Nicholas Gonzalez (The O.C.), Edwin Hodge (Invasion), Jacqueline McKenzie (The 4400), Marisa Ramirez (Miracles), Annabella Sciorra (Law & Order: Criminal Intent), and Derek Webster (K-Ville), all of whom play Gallagher’s fellow doctors or hospital staff. The series has 13 episodes in its current first season that will run until August 14 — if the show isn’t pulled or rescheduled first, that is.
Tune in to “Book of Judges” tonight (June 9) at 9pm ET on Fox.
Mental currently airs Tuesdays on Fox at 9pm ET

I love it! Marisa Ramirez is the best!
Yes, Marietta, Marisa is one of the few good things on Mental.
who played David Carradine’s daughter?
Canadian actress Estella Warren played his on-screen daughter Niobe.
