Mark Your Calendar: ‘Caprica’ Returns in January

Season One Resumes

Caprica

Basic-cable network Syfy released the information today: Battlestar Galactica prequel Caprica continues its first season on a currently undetermined date in January of next year.

The network also announced that a brand-new trailer for the second half of the series’ rookie run will debut at Comic-Con this Friday, July 23. So, if you plan to attend the show’s panel, that’s just one more thing to get excited about.

The rest of us unlucky people will have to either find the Caprica trailer at Microsoft’s Zune Marketplace — where it will be available as a free exclusive on Monday, July 26 — or wait for the video to start streaming on the network’s website.

As for Season 1.5, here’s what fans can look forward to, in Syfy’s exact words:

[T]he once idyllic world of Caprica — as well as life across the colonies — falls prey to an explosive chain reaction of consequences set off by the characters’ many questionable actions in the season’s first half. Tensions rise, power shifts and the line between reality and the virtual world becomes increasingly blurred as everyone struggles to learn – and conquer – the stakes in this volatile setting. As the season races towards its stunning conclusion, events of each episode lay the framework for the inevitable (and brutal) clash between the newly-created Cylon race and their human creators.

All together now: Bring it on!
