‘Kyle XY’ Gets a Brat
As in Brat Pack, That Is
No—Matt Dallas‘ bellybutton-less character will not be knocking up a girl, at least not that I know of. Instead, this news refers to some excellent casting. TV Guide is reporting that the wise people behind ABC Family’s sensational Kyle XY have landed an icon from the 1980s movie scene to guest star: Ally Sheedy.
If you know anything about 80s flicks, then you know that Sheedy—along with fellow angst-filled females Molly Ringwald and Demi Moore—was a recurring face in that era’s most celebrated young adult-oriented coming-of-age films, including the popular St. Elmo’s Fire (which featured Moore and male brats Emilio Estevez, Rob Lowe, Andrew McCarthy, and Judd Nelson) and the teen cult classic The Breakfast Club (with Estevez and Nelson again, plus Ringwald and Dead Zone-r Anthony Michael Hall).
According to TV Guide, Sheedy will portray the mother of Kyle’s female counterpart, Jessi XX (Jaimie Alexander), for three episodes at the very end of the show’s second season. Those installments aren’t slated to air until 2008, but at least older fans of the series have something to get even more excited about in the meantime.
