It’s a Wrap: Stars Abound at ‘Heroes’ Season-Ending Party
Everyone from Doc House to Prince Protégés Sheila E. and Wendy & Lisa Jammed
The folks at NBC sure know how to attract rival entertainment to their parties. Apparently, all you’ve gotta do is invite the TV-star-studded rock band of one of your show’s lead actors and, voilà, there’s an instant line of talent from other networks helping to make your event a success. NBC scored big time during its Tuesday-night wrap party for freshman smash hit Heroes, which featured music-filled appearances by Hugh Laurie of Fox network’s ultra popular misanthropic medical drama House (Photo 1), James Denton of ABC’s junior ratings grabber Desperate Housewives (Photo 2), and fetching native Brooklynite Bonnie Somerville, an erstwhile player in ABC’s long-running must-see cop drama NYPD Blue (Photo 3). All of those folks are members of Heroes star Greg Grunberg‘s celebrity jam band, aptly dubbed Band from TV, for which the former Alias spook mans the drums (Photo 4).
Other notable names that joined in the onstage festivities with the TV-star-cum-musicians included former Prince collaborators Sheila E., Wendy Melvoin, and Lisa Coleman, the last two ex-Revolution members now known as the duo Wendy and Lisa who score Heroes (Photo 5); funnyman Wayne Brady of the Americanized Whose Line Is It Anyway? improv comedy show (Photo 6); series creator Tim Kring, who looks to play a mean guitar (Photo 7); and series star Hayden Panettiere, who obviously sang her little heart out for the enthusiastic crowd after receiving a mock diploma from Kring to celebrate her graduating from high school this year (Photo 8).
