It’s ‘Rescue Me’ and ‘Louie’ Time on FX

New Season and New Show

Tuesdays are about to heat all the way up on FX this summer with the June 29 premiere of Rescue Me‘s sixth season and the long-awaited series premiere of new Louis C.K. comedy Louie. I’m psyched.

Rescue Me gets the party started at 10pm ET with the premiere episode “Legacy.” Of course, Tommy survives the shooting that ended Season Five, but now he’s having dreams of his own afterlife and being haunted by his many bad memories. Elsewhere, his firehouse is threatened when the city is forced to reduce it’s budget.

Following at 11pm (yeah, I know that’s a bit late) are the back-to-back “Pilot” and “Poker/Divorce” episodes of Louie. The first half-hour introduces New York-based standup comedian Louie (kind of like Louis C.K. in real life, if you didn’t know), a single father of two young daughters. He goes with them on a school trip, which isn’t as fun as it should be.

The second episode features Louie coping with his divorce becoming final by trying to hook up with a woman he knew back in school and playing poker with his buddies, which includes a gay dude. The episode description must have specified that last detail for a good reason, so I guess we’ll learn why.

Sneak a peek at Louie in the following brief clip. Already I’m hooked.
