The ‘Heroes’ DVD Contests and Extras Just Keep Coming
Have Yet More Fun with ‘Heroes’ and Win Stuff, Too
There’s no denying that NBC’s Heroes is one of the most and best marketed series in the history of, like, civilization. The same applies whether you’re talking fresh episodes or off-set events, such as the cast and crew’s super successful Comic-Con appearance in July. To help spread the word about the rapidly approaching August 28 Season One DVD release and to get fans riled up to make a purchase, there’s also no shortage of available opportunities for even more exposure, running the gamut from online contests—some interactive and some not—to pre-release clips of select DVD extras. Add all of the promotional activity accompanying the September 24 premiere of the second season, and there’s enough to keep Heroes freaks (as I call us superfans) busy for quite a while.
CONTEST
Heroes DVD Sweepstakes: The exclusive prize package includes an autographed copy of the Heroes Season One DVD set, a limited edition Heroes T-shirt, and a Heroes Hiro wristwatch. Nice! (The Web site is kind of clunky loading, though, so try and try again if it won’t appear properly. According to the official rules posted, the contest doesn’t close until September 7.)
GAMES
Are You a Hero?: Quiz yourself to see if you have some latent superpower(s) that you’re completely unaware of. Hey, you never know… This game isn’t directly related to the DVD release, but it’s fun all the same.
Heroes Challenge: This online trivia game will test how well you really know Heroes, as opposed to what you just think you know. In return for your participation, the site will also provide access to parts of the DVD release’s special features. Moreover, additional trivia sections are scheduled for addition today and on August 28.
