‘Friday Night Lights’ Season 2 Is Ready to Go
High School Football Drama Returns Tonight—Be There
Friday Night Lights current fans and future fans, do not forget to tune in tonight and show your love for the critically acclaimed and arguably best new drama from last fall, which almost got canceled anyway due to poor ratings. If you want the defending state champions from the Dillon Panthers football team to stick around for a while, you’ve got to cancel those dates, ditch the parties, forego that night out on the town, and plant your butt in front of the tube at 9pm EST sharp. That’s when the Peabody-winning series begins its second season on NBC in a new and hopefully much-improved time slot. Gotta love the synergy between the title and the scheduling.
Tonight’s episode, “Last Days of Summer,” is all about change: Eric Taylor (Kyle Chandler) has to cope with separation from his family as he begins his new job as head coach at fictional Texas Methodist University, while his wife Tami (Connie Britton) prepares to bring their second child into the world, the remaining Panthers struggle to maintain their recent success on the playing field, and best buds Matt Saracen (Zach Gilford) and Landry Clarke (Jesse Plemons) attempt to get a grip on their new lives.
Remember: Don’t set your TiVo or program your VCR—that ain’t enough. Help make Friday Night Lights a ratings success this go-round by staying home to view it live and on time. That’s the only way to do it.
If you don’t have the DVD set for the first season and you’ve missed anything or just want to review or rewatch some parts before the premiere, NBC’s got you covered. You can catch the entire first season of Friday Night Lights (that’s right—all 22 episodes) online, right now. Just visit NBC’s Video Rewind site for the show.
Another treat for fans is the Premiere Night Live Blog. Join NBC and other devotees at the Friday Night Lights blog for a special 30-minute live discussion with executive producer Jeff Reiner. It’s all happening at 10pm EST, and it’s free to boot. You can even visit the blog beforehand to leave your own question(s) in the comments section for maximum viewer satisfaction.
Friday Night Lights currently airs Fridays on NBC at 9pm EST
