Syfy dramedy Eureka heads on a midseason break after the September 10 summer finale called “I’ll Be Seeing You.”

When a project at Global Dynamics is stolen, Trevor becomes a prime suspect due to his recent disappearance. But, that’s not the worst thing that happens to the time traveler because Carter and Jo also discover he’s been hanging out, so to speak, with devious Beverly Barlowe. Oh, the many ways that plot can go when the series returns for the second part of its current fourth season.

A sneak peek at “I’ll Be Seeing You” follows, featuring Trevor and Beverly, who’s up to no good again.

It is finally much-anticipated reunion time on the fresh August 27 episode of Syfy fantasy dramedy Eureka.

Not only does Carter have to help save Eureka again during “The Ex-Files” — this time from an unknown entity — but he and other residents have the pleasure of receiving visits from some long-gone former residents, such as Allison’s almost husband once more Nathan Stark (Ed Quinn) for instance. How I miss him. Not so when it comes to devious Beverly Barlowe (Debrah Farentino), however.

Haven follows at 10pm ET with “Ain’t No Sunshine,” which revolves a ghost story that suddenly becomes reality, thanks to a dark spirit that allegedly kills sick people before their time is officially up. Not fair.

The fine cast and crew of Syfy dramedy Eureka must be at least as thrilled as I am right about now. Not only does the imaginative show have a brand-new episode coming up on August 20, but Syfy announced on August 17 that the truly original original series will return for a fifth season. Hooray!

The latest episode of the dramedy is called “Stoned” … and, no, that does not mean the smoking-related, occasionally medicinal, and often spacey variety. While Carter, Grant, Henry, and Zoe all deal with their respective pressing matters of the heart, Eureka residents start turning into stone. Talk about heavy hearts and every other body part.

Stephen King-based newcomer Haven presents the fresh episode “Sketchy” afterwards at 10pm ET. Now that Audrey is finally getting more respect and less chilliness from Haven locals, she and Nathan take on another odd crime in a long line of bizarre cases. This one involves a freakishly damaged body and an individual who can harm people from a distance. In other words, just what Haven needs during its time of Troubles.

Good stuff’s on the way during Syfy’s new August (Friday the) 13th lineup. Getting back to nature is a little too invigorating on both Eureka and Haven as each series presents a plot based on creatures gone wild(er).

Eureka opens the primetime block at 9pm ET with the cutely titled “Momstrosity.” When Carter, Kevin, and a few other Eureka men head out on a camping trip, they encounter a most unique and terrifying “thing.”

Haven follows at 10pm with “Fur.” The next odd case for Audrey and Nathan requires them to investigate a series of attacks involving animals and hunters. The Troubles are back indeed.

Syfy’s August 6 Friday-night lineup is almost like three shows for the price of two. That’s because Warehouse 13 actress Allison Scagliotti drops by Eureka at 9pm ET for a little crossover action. Then Haven follows at 10pm with a fresh episode of its own.

The Eureka installment featuring Scagliotti’s brainy, brash, bad-girl character Claudia Donovan is appropriately titled “Crossing Over.” It seems Eureka is in dire need of her help when mysterious objects appear that could make the town disappear, or something like that. I’m sure she’ll do a splendid job as usual, probably after a bit of a rough start.

Next up is Haven‘s latest, “Ball and Chain.” Diehard paranormal fans like yours truly will get a welcome whiff of nostalgia when Audrey and Nathan investigate a woman with ties to several men who aged abnormally after hooking up with her. The best part of all? The current object of the literal femme fatale’s “affection” is Duke, which could have deadly repercussions for Nathan’s longtime enemy. Nathan’s gonna love coming to his rescue I bet.

It’s family night on Friday-night Syfy series Eureka and Haven during their respective fresh July 30 episodes.

Eureka opens the two-hour block at 9pm ET with “The Story of O2.” While Carter frets about visiting his daughter Zoe at Harvard, Allison must deal with a rocket race gone awry at the town’s Space Week Festival as she also tries to improve her relationship with her son. Lots on the table there. Plus, former Ghost Whisperer star Jamie Kennedy guests.

Haven presents “Consumed” next at 10pm. Audrey continues to investigate her mysterious past after spotting another photo of her possible mother. Meanwhile, she and Nathan have their hands full with a contagion that could endanger the farm animals and fields in Haven.

Syfy Friday-night series Eureka and Haven are going to be very intense during their respective new July 23 episodes “All The Rage” and “Harmony.”

First up is Eureka at 9pm ET with an installment that features a raging scientist named Isaac Parrish, played by Star Trek: The Next Generation vet Wil Wheaton. Parrish’s bad attitude puts the entire staff of Global Dynamics in danger, but no one more so than poor Fargo.

The man apparently begins feeling like he’s not appreciated enough, and his resulting bitter anger somehow becomes contagious like a menacing virus and passes along to various GD employees. That’s just what Eureka needs: a bunch of pissed off brainiacs on the loose.

Haven follows at 10pm with a tale about everyone’s favorite kind of psychiatric patient: the one who manages to escape confinement. Yay! After a group of such mentally ill hospital residents get free of a facility in Haven, they temporarily regain their sanity.

That’s the good part. The bad part is that their presence in the general population coincides with a wave of insanity among other people, which may or may not be linked to a doctor at the local mental hospital who also lost his mind.

Now that Syfy’s Friday-night lineup is back in full swing, the network will present fresh episodes of the two series currently occupying the 9pm–11pm ET time period tonight, July 16. Eureka opens the block at 9pm with “A New World,” followed by paranormal newcomer Haven with “Butterfly” at 10pm.

Panic hits the town of Eureka during “A New World,” courtesy of a wayward project for the Founder’s Day festivities. Meanwhile, Carter, Fargo, Henry, and Lupo must cope with all of that time-line wackiness as they also deal with the customary day-to-day wackiness in Eureka.

Next on Haven‘s “Butterfly,” FBI agent Audrey and Haven cop Nathan investigate a case that begins with a damaged drinking establishment and leads to a chain of additional dangerous local crimes. To top it all off, Audrey could become a victim herself if she’s not careful.

Take a quick look at both new July 16 Syfy episodes in the promos below. Last week’s Haven premiere “Welcome to Haven” had a slightly loopy, cheesy Friday the 13th: The Series feel to it, which is all good in my book and bodes well for the show’s future.

It’s almost time. There’s just one more day left before the July 8 fourth-season premiere of immensely original Syfy dramedy Eureka. Friday nights on Syfy are about to take off again.

Getting things started on the right note at 9pm ET is the first episode of the summer, “Founder’s Day,” featuring Battlestar Galactica veteran James Callis, recently of failed ABC sci-fi drama FlashForward.

Callis plays Dr. Trevor Grant, an important figure in Eureka’s history going all the way back to the 1940s. Also in store is a marriage proposal for Deputy Jo Lupo (Erica Cerra), courtesy of Zane Donovan (Niall Matter).

The July 9 fourth-season premiere of Syfy’s whimsical scientific-minded dramedy Eureka is quickly drawing nearer, and viewers can get a taste of what’s to come from the show’s latest teaser trailer, which features fan favorite Neil Grayston as adorable braniac geek Douglas Fargo.

The short clip, called “The Fargonator” in appreciation of its inspiration The Terminator, informs us that discretely naked Fargo(nator) “was sent to the past to change the future.”

So, should fans be more excited about the daring time-jumping feat or the obvious lack of clothes on Fargo’s person? Hmmm… To each his own.

Eureka‘s 20-episode (Yay!) fourth season officially launches on Friday, July 9, at 9pm ET. Mark the date in your TV calendars now.
