Magic Chefs: It looks like that one-week break was worth it. Not only does How I Met Your Mother, Harold & Kumar, and Doogie Howser, M.D. standout Neil Patrick Harris make a special appearance, but viewers get the awesome opportunity to watch the chefs — and I’m not making this up — cook eggs with one hand tied behind their back. Talk about an invaluable skill! However, moms (and some dads) everywhere could do it with their eyes closed, too. Just sayin’…

Wiegel’s Couple’s Therapy: Season Six comes to a close with Deputy Raineesha Williams reluctantly accompanying her fellow deputy, Trudy Wiegel, to couple’s therapy after Trudy’s insurance allotment for psychiatric assistance runs out. It’s nice to know that at least one of the Reno Sheriff Department’s finest has been taking full advantage of therapy. Too bad that still hasn’t done a bit of good, though.

Wedding Day: The opening episode of TNT’s first original reality series premiered on a Tuesday at 8pm, the second episode moved to Thursday at 8pm the next week, and now the third episode has landed on the following Saturday morning at 9am, the show’s new permanent (or so they say) time slot. That’s right — I wrote Saturday mornings at 9am. Unfortunately, I’ll still be dreaming about winning the lottery or whatever at that early hour.

Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular: Prefer your pyrotechnics on the small screen, at a guaranteed safe and uncrowded distance? Scheduled to appear are Natasha Bedingfield, Kenny Chesney, Jewel, Katharine McPhee, Karen Olivo, Jordin Sparks, Rob Thomas, and the cast of Broadway’s West Side Story.

Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular: Ditto, only this time you can celebrate Independence Day from afar with Beantown dwellers and visitors. Late night talk’s Craig Ferguson hosts again, Keith Lockhart conducts the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra, and living legend Neil Diamond performs before, during, and after impressive fireworks over the gorgeous Charles River.

Eli Stone: Since CBS’ fun Harper’s Island is taking the holiday off, I’m glad reliable old Eli will still be around. During this, the next-to-last episode left in the series (*sniffle*), Eli suffers from visions of his dad. Meanwhile, he and Jordan take on a corporate-greed case after the older attorney meets a room service waiter who was a victim of executive mismanagement. Reprising their roles are Everwood‘s Tom Amendes as Martin Posner and Ed‘s Tom Cavanagh as Eli’s father Aaron Stone. Good times!

The fresh pickings are definitely slim tonight, thanks to the upcoming Fourth of July weekend holiday. But while there’s no new Burn Notice or Royal Pains, Penn & Teller will be deconstructing more bullshit on HBO, and ABC is serving up a double dose of sitcom Samantha Who? after yanking In the Motherhood from the schedule yet again earlier this week. Blame the ratings, fans.

While he tries to clear up the problem during a trip to the controversial country, he encounters a young girl who could get the kidney transplant she desperately needs, if only her father, a donor match, weren’t providing forced slave labor at a labor camp. Can brave Teddy save the day? I have no clue, but I’m gonna watch to find out.

Primetime: Crime | 10:01pm

This spin-off of the long-running investigative newsmagazine Primetime opens its third season with a report focused on a teenage brother and sister suspected of having murdered their stepfather. ABC promises lots of finger-pointing, interviews with both suspects, ample courtroom footage, and, most intriguing of all, “a startling jailhouse confession.” Hopefully, viewers won’t have to wait until the final two minutes of the program for the last.

Secret Santa: The next-to-last episode of this zany cop spoof’s current sixth season is going sci-fi. Comedy You Can Believe in With David Alan Grier: The In Living Color veteran hosts a taped comedy special featuring performances by funny people Bruce Bruce, Mark Curry, Jo Koy, Marina Franklin, and Aries Spears.

Hung: HBO premieres a truly original comedy: Thomas Jane (The Punisher) plays a down-and-almost-out man who ingeniously decides to use his biggest God-given asset to turn his life around. I sense another hit on the way for the pay channel. Folks just can’t resist the raunchy premium-cable stuff.
